Empathic and professional, he began his career as a registered-nurse over 12 years ago, specializing in mental health. He worked as a nurse care manager for 7 years at Truman Medical Center in downtown Kansas City, MO and eventually decided to get his Master’s Degree at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. He graduated in 2013 and started his career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board-Certified. Marco worked in a Community Based Health Center in Southwest Kansas taking care of various psychiatric illnesses across the lifespan. This included the SPMI population (Severe and Persistent Mentally Ill), Major Depression,Bipolar, Substance abuse, and Anxiety among others. During this time, he also saw forensic clients from a local detention center regarding their mental health issues. Marco then moved to Houston where he continued his career in mental health taking care of the Geriatric population in an inpatient acute care setting. Recently he has transferred to Dallas to continue to do outpatient work and to be closer with his family. He strives hard to attain the best possible outcome using a patient centric approach to treatment. When Marco is not treating patients, he enjoys going on road trips with family and friends, and the beach is definitely his happy place.
