Personality Assessment Inventory is an objective inventory of adult personality to assess psychopathological syndromes and provide information relevant for clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and screening for psychopathology. PAI provides useful insight into 3 broad classes; neurotic, psychotic and impulse control disorders. It can help to evaluate the patient’s environmental circumstances, motivation for treatment, the potential of self-harm or harm to others. It also provides interpersonal scales relating to relationships and interactions that assess for antisocial borderline traits while indicating any potential crisis situation.
